About the Long Sands General Store


Bob Seydler, his wife Sue and son Don bought the Long Sands General Store in 1987. When the Seydlers first owned the store it was a simple grocery store selling the essentials for a stay at the beach.


Currently owned and operated by Don and his wife Erika, the store has been running for over 20 years and has grown to include a deli, ice cream bar and gift shop. There's no doubt about it, the Long Sands General Store sells some of the best sandwiches and ice cream on the beach.

Take the time to peruse through Erika's gift shop; you won't be disappointed. With all charm and beauty of the New England Coast, the gift shop has just what you are looking for to complete a memorable day at the beach. It is the perfect place to find decorations for your beach getaway or a souvenir to remember you trip to Maine.

Don runs the Long Sands General Store Deli and holds culinary degrees from The Cambridge School of Culinary Arts and Les Ecoles LenĂ´tre of France. Don ensure that the deli is stocked with the finest ingredients.

When not in the store, Don and Erika are involved in the community, including helping plan the annual Sandcastle Contest at Long Sands Beach and supporting the annual Breast Cancer walk on the beach. With the couple's dedication its business and local beach community, the Long Sands General Store is the place to stop on your trip to the beach!
